Colorado Avalanche Vs San Jose Sharks

Colorado Avalanche Game Two Preview

The Colorado Avalanche take a 1-0 season record into California Saturday night. After a huge showing from the top line the Avalanche hope to see a little bit more balanced scoring in Saturday’s contest.

Who is hot?

Mikko Rantanen had 2 goals and 2 assists in game one.
Nathan Mackinnon had 1 goal and 3 assists in game one.
Cale Makar had 1 goal and 1 assist in game one.

Of the players not expected to make such a large contribution to the score card Colton Ross had a big game. Ross had an assist and 3 shots on goal and 2 blocked shots. It is notable to mention that this was his first real National Hockey League action participating on the penalty kill as he looked solid there as well. While many may think that the goal he assisted on was “just an empty net” it was a goal that doesn’t happen if Ross Miles Wood and Tomáš Tatar are not forechecking hard and playing strong through the neutral zone. Without hard work, the empty netter and final insurance marker Doesn’t happen.

San Jose had a record of 22-14-16 overall and 22-14-16 on home ice. While this is not the same team as last season most pundits expect them to have a rough season this year as well. They are a team with some solid prospects for the future, but they are not quite there yet.

Whos out?

For the Avalanche they have a few injuries to work with

As of the writing of this article, the sharks have no one on their injury list.
